Shooting Low 2018

Jupiter and Saturn are very low this year - well at least from Bolton - so imaging them is tricky. Below is the set-up I use with the ADC (Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector) on the back of a Celestron C8 (25 years old!). ADC sounds complicated but is just 2 prisms separated by a calculated gap - 31 mm for the images of Jupiter on the gallery. For Saturn it will need to be an even wider gap as it is extremely low this year.
