The Telescopes of La Palma

Post by PMiskiw » Mon Oct 08, 2018 10:23 am

Where do you go when your family ask what do want to do for your birthday.
Well one place relatively close by, La Palma to see the telescopes which perch on a ridge of an extinct volcano.
A 4 hour flight and the next day off we went on an adventure never to be forgotten.
But more for a future talk to the society.

Nice pictures Peter....one of my favourite places....i look forward to your talk :D

I wouldn't quite go so far as to call the volcano "extinct" lol....they reckon that next time it goes bang and "if" a big piece of it slides into the Atlantic then they say a mega-tsunami could wipe out the eastern side of the states 7 hours later

Darren.
