Comet 2017 T2 (PanSTARRS)

Post by rwilkinson » Sat Nov 30, 2019 9:14 am

This comet is now around 10th magnitude, moving between the constellations of Auriga and Perseus, so it's well-placed in the evening sky.

It's already showing a tail, and will be brightening over the next few months - potentially to binocular visibility...

The following night I tried it with a colour imaging system: a Sony mirrorless camera on the back of my 80mm refractor.
This is more convenient as it all runs off a battery - I don't need a laptop nor a mains cable.
