Had a go myself but with the mix of a bright moon and a slight fog haze I was unable to collect enough detail to reveal the tail. But it also disappeared behind a tree when the fog haze did eventually go away :roll:

If you are referring to the Baker Street Irregular Astro Camp I've been three time's and the weather was hit and mis. Same here, I use a car battery. If you go down to the scrap yards you can pick one up for £10 as I did. It cost about £60 to complete using a marine battery box, terminals, cigarette lighter plugs, fuse box, and wiring. Could of gone for a smaller battery box but I got space if I wanted to add anyth...

John I don't think you are doing anything wrong. The synscan will off filtered the brightest star in the south west to what it thinks are visible above the horizon. So my advice would be is to select this star, allow the mount to slew then manually slew the scope with the hand controller (regardless...
